QFD RECRUITMENT STEPS & HOW THE AFA CAN HELP
Stage 1: Submit Application
Candidates begin by submitting an online application. AFA’s Resume Builder Course ensures applications are professional and concise, while the Application Readiness Course helps candidates meet eligibility requirements and submit all necessary documentation.
Stage 2: Online Cognitive Ability Test
Candidates complete cognitive assessments. The Cognitive Aptitude Course prepares candidates with strategies and practice materials to excel in problem-solving, verbal reasoning, and numerical reasoning, building the confidence to perform well.
Stage 3: Beep Test
Candidates must meet the physical fitness standard by completing the beep test. AFA’s Beep Test/Shuttle Run Course trains candidates to build the endurance and pacing necessary to achieve the required level.
Stage 4: Operational Focused Abilities Test (OFAT)
Candidates complete physical tasks designed to simulate firefighting operations. The Physical Aptitude Test (PAT) Course builds the strength, stamina, and functional fitness needed to excel in physically demanding OFAT tasks.
Stage 5: Firefighter Panel Interview
Candidates participate in panel interviews to demonstrate their suitability for the role. AFA’s Panel Interview Course helps candidates deliver structured, impactful responses aligned with QFD values, while the Online Interview Course builds confidence for virtual interview settings.
Stage 6: Psychological Assessment
Candidates undergo psychological evaluations. The Psychometric Personality Course prepares candidates to approach these assessments with clarity and alignment to the qualities sought in firefighters.
Stage 7: Background Checks
Candidates must pass thorough background and compliance checks. The Application Readiness Course ensures candidates provide accurate and complete documentation to meet QFD requirements.
Post-Employment: Recruit Training
After successful selection, candidates transition to recruit training. AFA’s Recruit Course Prep builds physical, mental, and teamwork skills needed to excel, while Fortnightly Online Sessions with Firefighters provide expert advice and ongoing support throughout the transition.
